sci-fi design concept: shells have provided timeless inspiration in art, such as in the rococco era and in modern architectural and design forms. the shell is so consistent in art history as to be an archetypal image form. itself a house, the shell has even been a design idea for an opera house! it's acoustic properties, recognized from primitive to present day have been exploited in amphitheatre design. perhaps in the future people will continue the primal connection with the shell which will inspire spacecraft, house, furniture, vehicle, lifestyle, technology, health and other aspects of life and design for future life forms.

i sugest things that need to be invented and present theories on this site.

needed inventions:
self stirring saucepan/frypan.
spectacles and pens fitted with homing devises.
inter-active bed; programmed with capabilities to evict occupant/s; also to hug, give therapeutic massage, medically examine diagnose and treat and to dispense any level of affection required.

sci-fi concepts:
a house grown from a seed, (as a tree grows.) why not? since a seed can grow into a redwood then genetic engineering science should be able to ultimately code the growing organic matter to form into structures such as a house, obviating the need for the processes now used to build a house.
customized seed could not only grow the house but incorporate fixtures, fittings, furniture etc. plumbing and wiring would probably already be superceded by this time. clothing, manchester and food supplies could also be tailored into the seed. even the humans and pets thus housed could be a product of the seed.
these seeds could then be rocketed out into the universe to land on and germinate in other worlds. humans would not then need to endure arduous space travel to colonize other planets. and their built environment would have grown around them before their birth/germination commenced.
